Customized Post Production workflows
Green Rock VCS
Brave Bison is a social-first content company with it’s own content franchises and boasting clients that include Spotify, Netflix, Apple, Uber Eats, and Uniqlo. Its vision is to scale up and produce more original content. With scale comes its own problems and their post-production workflow was already being stretched and not set up for such rapid expansion in its current form. A familiar issue to many businesses, legacy data was located on multiple mixed storage platforms and on-site edit team were working off duplicated media and local hard drives – which was not efficient, practical or secure.
We introduced the team to Green Rock VCS, our fully virtual editing solution, to revolutionise their post-production workflow. Headed up by Ashley Hall, product lead on VCS, the team went to work immediately to understand the workflow constraints and then find a solution. Brave Bison’s required a consolidated storage solution, a centralised digital library and a system that could also support a scalable cloud edit operation.
Without sounding too technical, the work began by providing a customised workflow for data transfer onto our BASE powered media storage platform. From there we then created an Aspera portal and began transferring all of their 70 terabytes library onto our Iconik Cloud Media Asset Manager (MAM). This created a virtual library in a secure virtual environment, to allow editors and producers access via a simple online login. After only six weeks, with support from Green Rocks VCS guru Ashley Hall, the team at Brave Bison had integrated Iconik and retrained its post managers, leaving a fully cloud-based edit operation with increased productivity and a very happy client.
